NEET-UG 2016 not applicable on State Government Medical Colleges

NEET-UG 2016 for Central and Private Medical Colleges

NEET-UG scores will be used to seek admissions in private medical colleges and medical colleges run by Central Government. Also the 15% seats in state government colleges will also be filled through NEET-UG results.

State Medical Entrance Exams Valid in 2016

85% of the seats in state government run medical colleges will be filled by the state medical entrance exams. Some exams were already conducted and hence their scores will be valid and other exams that were pending will be held very soon. 

NEET-UG Phase 2 as per schedule

NEET-UG Phase 2 exam will happen on July 24 as per schedule and students will be allowed to appear for this exam in order to enable them to apply for private medical colleges and the 15% seats in state colleges.

NEET-UG Phase 2 will be open for all students even those who have appeared in NEET-UG Phase 1. If students appear in Phase 2 then their Phase 1 scores will be cancelled.

This information is as per last Supreme Court ruling, subject to change once NEET-UG Phase 2 exam information is released.

NEET-UG Beyond 2016

This exemption is provided for the year 2016 only. From next year onwards the proposed Supreme Court-mandated single all-India entrance exam, NEET-UG will happen and all central, state and private medical colleges are scheduled to follow that.
