Limit on attempts for NEET-UG 2017 - Important Update

NEET 2017 has been announced with major changes in exam eligibility criteria & no. of attempts.

Q: What does number of attempts to appear in NEET UG mean? 

A:  As per a notification released on February 3, 2017, the attempts will be calculated from 2017 onwards. For example, if a candidate has appeared in NEET 2017, they will be eligible for two more attempts provided they have not crossed the upper age limit.


Q: What is the age limit to appear in NEET UG 2017? 

A: As per the latest news regarding NEET UG 2017, CBSE has decided to put a cap on the age limit for appearing in NEET-UG

Q: Will admission to AIIMS and JIPMER also be through NEET? 

A: No, AIIMS and JIPMER were established through separate acts of Parliament. Thus, these institutions do not fall within the purview of NEET. These institutions will be conducting their own tests for admission process.

Q: I have appeared in AIPMT 2015 and retest, along with NEET Phase 1 and 2, Can I appear in NEET 2017?

A: Yes, you can appear in NEET 2017 as the examination taken in 2017 will be treated as the first attempt.

Q: Is there any change in the exam pattern or syllabus of NEET?

A: No, NEET 2017 will be conducted in the same pattern and same syllabus as NEET 2016.

Q: Is Aadhaar Card mandatory to fill the NEET applications? 

A: Yes, Aadhaar Card has been made mandatory to fill NEET applications except for candidates belonging to Jammu & Kashmir, Meghalaya and Assam.
